Today, I want to talk to you about … feelings of rejection. As a Christian, how do we handle these times when we feel like we have been rejected, that whatever it is that we really wanted to happen, didn’t happen.

**See Disclaimer at bottom of page**

How a Rejection Makes Us Feel

We doubt ourselves. We think something is wrong with us.

Recently, I went through an experience like this, and no matter how much I know better, I still have those gut-wrenching feelings of “What’s wrong with me?”

When the truth is, there is nothing wrong with you. There is nothing wrong with me.

The truth is… the situation was not God’s will. God sees the big picture.

We can only see….this much. [Holds up fingers and thumbs close together indicating “a tiny bit.”]

So whatever it is, we need to take a deep breath. We need to realize and remember that God is in control.

How Christ-centered Yoga Helps

So Christ-centered yoga is a wonderful way we can work through these types of feelings.

Not only is it wonderful for our physical bodies, for our flexibility and our strength, but our emotions, which are part of our bodies as well - our minds.

It can help us work through these painful feelings and help us understand, really understand that God is in control.

So please check out the video that I have made here [indicating the video “Christ-centered Yoga for Coping with Rejection and Disappointment”] that I have made to help you work through any feelings you may be having of rejection or disappointment.

Why Christ-centered Yoga Will Make You Feel Better

It will make you feel better - Christ-centered yoga - because Christ is making you feel better!

We need to know what His will for us is, and … focusing in, praying, studying His word, and moving our bodies at the same time is the best way I know how to do that.

So please … give it a try!

Susan VanMeakins has been teaching Christ-centered yoga for three years and grew up immersed in Christian teachings as a “preacher’s kid” and throughout adulthood in several denominations. She was inspired to teach fitness from a Christian perspective by Alisa Keeton, founder of Revelation Wellness, and Christian spiritual disciplines by Adele Ahlberg Calhoun, author of The Spiritual Disciplines Handbook.

Susan studied yoga with Kristen Gibowicz, owner and lead trainer of Living Soul Institute and graduated from their 200-hour YTT in January 2021. She is currently in the process of obtaining her 500-hour master’s level yoga teacher certification. She specializes in teaching gentle yoga on a mat or in a chair, combined with Christian spiritual disciplines, Biblical scripture readings, and prayer.
